AUSTRIA ADDS A LOTTERY THAT WOULD COVID VACCINE MANDATE

Austria’s conservative fed government said  Thursday it was firing a national lottery for encourage holdouts to get vaccinated against the coronavirus, hours preceding parliament passed legislation aid introduce a national vaccination mandate.

Members of the public, whether typically vaccinated or not, would be entitled to one ticket for each treatment they have had – third in total for those who have had recommended booster shot.

Every 10 ticket would win a very 500 euro ($568) gift voucher, Nehammer said, with it would cost up to single billion euros. He further down the road added on Twitter its vouchers could be used in “retail, tourism, hospitality, services, heritage and sport”.

Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler said the aim was to support Austrian business ventures and avoid online retailers as much as possible.
