LA-based Metropolis raises $41 million within upgrade parking infrastructure

Metropolis can be described as new Los Angeles-based startup here is looking to compete with BMW-owned ParkMobile for getting a slice of the automated parking lot loss market.

Upgrading ParkMobile’s license plate-based service with a system vision based system that recognizes cars as they enter and impart garages has been Metropolis’ mission for founder and chief executive Alex Israel first formed the business back in 2017.

Israel, a melodrama entrepreneur, has spent decades planning on parking. His last company, ParkMe, was acquired by Inrix back in 2015 . And so it was with those earnings coupled with experience that Israel went back with regard to the drawing board to develop a new a bit parking payment and management products and services.

Redarding Alex Israel, the parking cost application is the foundation for a larger business empire that hopes to reimagine parking spaces as hubs to acquire a broad array of urban mobility products.

In this, the company’s goals aren’t dissimilar from the Florida-based startup, REEF, which has its own turn on what to do with the existing infrastructure but footprint created by urban parking rooms.
